The Bloomington Criminal Law Firm Ready to Fight Your Charges

Many people find themselves paralyzed into inaction after being arrested or charged with an Illinois crime. Sometimes they go into a kind of shock due to the stress and fear of the situation itself. Other times police officers and prosecutors may convince them that there is nothing to be done – the evidence against them is too strong. They are going to pay, so why even try to fight?

This, of course, is exactly how law enforcement officials want you to feel. Because their job is to secure a conviction. If you believe there is no hope and do nothing to fight back, it makes that job a whole lot easier. Here is what you should do: hire a skilled and experienced criminal attorney as soon as you can. The faster you do, the better your chances at receiving a positive outcome. Why? Because in criminal cases, time matters.

As someone who has been practicing law for more than 29 years, John Prior understands this. He knows that some types of evidence must be collected quickly or you will not be able to use them in your defense. The more time law enforcement officials spend with you before you have an attorney, the more likely you are to say or do something that can harm your case.

That is why, when you decide to work with The Prior Law Firm, P.C., our lawyers are ready to hit the ground running. We will make sure you are not questioned without a representative present; your rights are respected and no corners are cut; any evidence that can potentially help your case is collected and turned over to us; and the prosecution does not get any more of a head start than they already have.

John G. Prior, Jr.

With over 27 years of legal experience, Mr. Prior has handled many types of criminal cases. Even better, he has seen those cases from both sides of the aisle.

Before opening The Prior Law Firm in 2004, Mr. Prior worked for the State’s Attorney’s Office in a variety of capacities over the years. He began as a brief writer for the Appellate Prosecutor’s office, then served as an Assistant State’s Attorney, and finally was the elected State’s Attorney for Henderson County.

Why should this matter to you? Because working in these positions required him to build cases designed to get people convicted. He learned how to be a prosecutor. As a defense attorney, he now uses that very knowledge to anticipate what prosecutors are going to do and plan ahead to poke holes in their stories and cast doubt about his clients’ guilt.

With awards and recognition from The National Trial Lawyers, the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys, and the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys, Attorney John Prior is certainly doing something right, and you can see it in the results his firm obtains for his clients.
